He replaces Hilda Heglund, who has left the MMAC after working for the chamber for 32 years, including 15 years as executive director of COSBE.
The chamber also named Nathan Elias as director of governmental affairs, replacing Bill Reid who left to take a position with Ely Lilly & Co.
Goss had been president of the Wisconsin Sports Development Corp., which oversees the Badger State Games, the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame, and the NFL Cheese League. Prior to that, he served as deputy secretary of the state Department of Tourism, and for three years as a policy advisor to then-Gov. Tommy Thompson. He also worked for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as liaison to state utility commissions.
Elias had been a special assistant to Thompson, and served in a variety of positions with the governor since 1995. He will serve as the chief lobbyist for the chamber.
“Both Pat and Nate bring significant experience in governmental relations and public policy to the MMAC,” said Tim Sheehy, MMAC president. “These additions to our team will strengthen our lobbying efforts as we continue to advocate for pro-business reforms.”
