YWCA calls for award nominations

The YWCA is calling for nominations for its annual event to promote racial justice in December. The YWCA’s Eliminating Racism Award honors those who have demonstrated a commitment to encouraging racial justice and interracial understanding toward eliminating racism. The Empowering Women Award recognizes those who significantly contribute to the betterment and well-being of women. All nominations are due by Friday, Oct. 9. The award winners will be honored at the YWCA’s “An Evening to Promote Racial Justice” on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Marcus Center for Performing Arts.
