NEWaukee young professionals organization will launch its first week-long event series dedicated exclusively to Milwaukee’s young professionals from Monday, April 16 through Saturday, April 21.
The events will be held throughout the city.
“Milwaukee is home to a vibrant young professional movement,” said Ian Abston, president of NEWaukee. “We hope to bring the amazing groups that activate our young to expose the organizations’ following to one another, as well as to showcase the power of Milwaukee’s young to better the city.”
The week will feature 17 distinct events including coffee socials, lunch seminars and event networking throughout a series of ‘themed days,’ Abston said.
Each day showcases the interests of Milwaukee’s young professional community including transit, women in leadership, Milwaukee innovation, volunteerism, the arts, and Earth Day.
Prior to the week, participants are able to nominate their peers that have displayed an outstanding commitment in one of the six categories explored through the week’s daily themes. The nominees are selected by a panel of judges consisting of community young professional organization leaders. The winners will be announced during the Milwaukee Young Leaders Award Show at the Milwaukee County Historical Society on Thursday, April 19, 2012. To nominate a young leader, click here.
