The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County will host its Gala of Distinction event on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha at 6 p.m., to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its annual Women of Distinction awards.
"We are excited to host this wonderful gala to honor 25 years of Women of Distinction,” said Kay Lettenberger, chair of the Women and Girls Fund board of trustees. “Over the years, the achievements of 159 women and girls have inspired us. Their talents, skills and accomplishments have improved the quality of life for all of us, especially the women and girls who benefit from the charitable gifts we make through the Women and Girls Fund.”
The event will also serve as a reunion for the honorees who have won the award since 1985. Past winners of the Young Women of Tomorrow and Families of Distinction awards also will be honored at the Gala.
The Women of Distinction awards began in 1985 as an initiative of the YWCA of Waukesha County. In 2004, the Women and Girls Fund was created by the Waukesha County Community Foundation with remaining endowment funds following the closing of the YWCA of Waukesha County, and the Fund has continued the storied tradition of honoring the most accomplished women of Waukesha County.
Tickets for the Gala of Distinction are now on sale for $75 per person, or $750 for a table of ten. To purchase, contact the Waukesha County Community Foundation at 262.513.1861, or Visit www.waukeshafoundation.org for more information.
