Woman-owned business accelerator to launch in Milwaukee

The Denver-based Think Global Institute has announced it will open its next woman-owned business accelerator program in Milwaukee.

The program, which will run from July 7 to August 7 at sponsor GS Design’s offices in Milwaukee, will provide development and advising for women entrepreneurs who are working to grow their businesses.

The accelerator offers one-on-one consulting, workshops, networking events, access to mentors and subject matter experts, and ongoing support.

More information is available at www.thinkglobalinstitute.org/city/milwaukee. TGI will announce which Milwaukee program applicants it has selected on Sunday.

TGI was founded by Milwaukee natives Steve Haase and Amy Scerra. The institute ran the accelerator program in Denver in March and plans to host it in Phoenix in October.

“We hope to identify and work with some incredible women-owned businesses in the southeastern Wisconsin region,” TGI said on its Milwaukee incubator site. “Our philosophy is to support small businesses as they grow. We provide the resources and tools that most small businesses struggle to access. As business matures and leaves the well supported startup environment, they often have to fend for themselves. We believe businesses in this stage bring an incredible potential to the future of cities they are in. As the startups are being supported in their channels, we believe that this group of businesses is a great opportunity for regions to expand.”
