Wisconsin gained 1,500 private sector jobs in September, and the state’s unemployment rate dipped slightly to 7.3 percent from 7.5 percent in August, according to the latest seasonally adjusted employment data released today by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The state’s private sector workforce grew to 2,318,000 from 2,316,500 in August, according to the data, which is compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) of the U.S. Department of Labor.
The agencies also revised the state’s August numbers to say that Wisconsin gained 3,100 more jobs than originally estimated.
The U.S. unemployment rate stands at 7.8 percent, down from 8.1 percent in August.
