Wisconsin Department of Tourism awards tourist information center grants

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism has awarded 15 organizations around the state with its Tourist Information Center Grant. The grant is designed to assist local nonprofit organizations, municipalities or Native American Tribes who operate tourist information and visitors centers throughout the state. Eligible applicants may be reimbursed up to $15,000 per organization per year. Grant money can be used as reimbursement for staff at the centers, acquire promotional materials or for purchasing display equipment like racks and shelving.

  • Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau – $413
  • Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau – $9,536
  • La Crosse Area Convention & Visitors Bureau – $3,377
  • Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau – $8,606
  • Marinette Travel Center – $837
  • Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center – $15,000
  • Polk County Information Center – $7,355
  • Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce – $2,637
  • Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce – $3,510
  • Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau – $2,178
  • Superior Visitor Center – $7,744
  • Wausau/Central Wisconsin Convention & Visitor Bureau – $1,006
