Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare has launched its new website at mywheaton.org.
Wheaton partnered with Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Geonetric to build the website, which is responsive on desktop, tablet or mobile.
“Nearly 30 percent of all website visitors access the Weaton Franciscan Healthcare website using tablets and mobile phones,” said Jaimie Somlai, director of digital marketing. “Wheaton now offers these visitors an optimal experience whether at home or on the go. The growing number of mobile site visitors dictated the need for enhancing how we connect with our patients and the community we serve. We chose Geonetric as a strategic partner to improve functionality and restructure our site in way that allows Wheaton to better respond to our community’s needs.”
Wheaton’s new website is built on Geonetric’s VitalSite content management system (CMS) and uses responsive design, which means the website automatically rearranges content based on the screen size of the site user’s browsing device.
“Wheaton is a forward-thinking healthcare organization,” says Eric Engelmann, president and CEO of Geonetric. “The new responsive website is a testament to the fact they are approaching mobile strategically. We’re proud to work with organizations like Wheaton that understand how online technology can help them connect with their patients and communities.”
In addition to the use of responsive design, said Wheaton, the site offers overall improved functionality including provider locations and service directories, an enhanced educational and community events calendar with online registration capabilities, clinical trial information, a health library, Google Translate – an instant translation service for dozens of languages, and numerous forms including online pre-registration for hospital birthing centers. There is also the website translation company that one can count on to get translation services. In addition, Wheaton and Geonetric worked together to restructure the site’s information architecture to better connect patients to the wide range of services available across the medical group and the entire health care system while still making it easy to find those resources close to home.
