Brooklyn-based Home furnishings chain West Elm plans to open its Third Ward store and the company’s first in Wisconsin on June 4 at 10 a.m.
The 11,000-square-foot store at 342 N. Water St., suite 100, will be open Mondays-Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The store, one of 71 global locations, will feature the retailer’s summer product assortment and design services, as well as crafted goods from five local Wisconsin artists and makers.
Among the local companies is Be Timeless, which has designed an exclusive tote bag that will be given away to the first 300 shoppers who spend $50 at the Third Ward store. Wisconsin artist Kayla Tafoya is behind the Be Timeless brand, which screen prints on pillows, totes and other canvas goods.
The other artists are Cassandra Smith, an artist and designer who paints deer antlers in modern colors and patterns; Cortney Heimerl, a textile artist who embroiders colorful flags; Janelle Gramling, an arist and designer who creates glazed porcelain air plant holders; and Toast Ceramics, a Madison-based ceramicist who creates fresh, graphic flower pots and vases.
