Wellness Council names recipients of Light of Wellness Awards

The Wellness Council of Wisconsin announced today the winners of its first annual Light of Wellness Awards.

The awards provide employers an opportunity to showcase achievements in wellness by their employees.

The recipients include:
Leadership
Winner: Shari Anhold of Strattec Security Corp., Milwaukee.
Honor Mentions: Ellen Endrizzi, Zilber Ltd., Milwaukee; Kevin Setnes, Standard Process Inc., Palmyra; and Barbara Prindiville, Waukesha County Technical College.
Healthy Behavior
Winner: Robin Nicholson, Appleton Papers Inc.
Honorable Mentions: Carol Bombinski, Froedtert Health, Milwaukee; Craig Geiger, Anguil Environmental, Milwaukee; and Jessica Payson, Marquette University, Milwaukee.
Rising Light
Winner: Ann Mitchell, Johnsonville Sausage LLC, Sheboygan Falls.
Honorable Mentions: Steve Beyersdorf, Power Test, Sussex.
Crystal Fahrenkampf, Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics.

The Light of Wellness Award recipients will be honored at the Humana Wellness Summit to be presented by BizTimes and the Wellness Council of Wisconsin on Thursday, March 29, at 7:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West, 10499 Innovation Drive, in Wauwatosa.
Business leaders and human resource directors interested in starting or improving an employee corporate wellness program are invited to attend the Human Wellness Summit, which include a keynote presentation from Dr. Thomas Van Gilder, market vice president and medical officer at Humana. Van Gilder will kick off the event and provide analysis about the latest trends in health care and health care reform.
A panel discussion by the leaders of established employee corporate wellness programs will follow Van Gilder’s remarks. The executives will share their insights and experiences about starting a wellness program, gaining employee buy-in and more. They will discuss the components of their programs and returns on investment.
The panelists will include:
* Rob Cowen, president and chief executive officer of Badger Alloys Inc., Milwaukee.
* Linda Hogan, vice president group leader, Bader Rutter & Associates Inc., Brookfield.
* Alan Petelinsek, principal owner, Power Test Inc., Sussex.
* Tyler Roberts, health promotions manager, Rexnord Industries LLC, West Milwaukee.
* Tina Semotan, vice president of human resources and organizational development, Franklin Energy Services LLC, Port Washington.
