WAUSAU – Local districts $100M in debt

The three largest school districts in central Wisconsin are a combined $103 million in debt after borrowing money to pay for new schools, upgrade old ones and, in one district, help manage cash flow difficulties.

 

A Daily Herald Media review of records in the Wausau, D.C. Everest Area and Mosinee districts shows their collective debt is equivalent to about half of their cumulative annual budgets for the 2012-13 school year.
