Wangard plans 182-unit apartment development in Elm Grove

Would be located along Watertown Plank Road

Wauwatosa-based Wangard Partners is proposing a multi-family rental development in Elm Grove that includes 182 units of townhomes and apartments.

The project includes four apartment buildings and one building with townhomes behind the existing Mill Place Shop property located at 13400-13430 Watertown Plank Road.

The development would be located on about 8.3 acres of the former Reinders property. In 2011, Reinders moved its operations to a larger facility in Sussex but still has some warehouses on the Elm Grove property that would be removed for the project, said Casey Griffiths, zoning and planning administrator for the village.

The apartments will range from 560-square-foot studio units to 1,372-square-foot two-bedroom plus den units. Townhomes will be two- and three-bedrooms.

Plans were submitted to the village and will reviewed by the Elm Grove plan commission March 7.
