Visit Milwaukee rolls out new campaign

As Milwaukee prepares for its lineup of lakefront festivals and neighborhood events this summer, Visit Milwaukee has unveiled a new campaign promoting the buzz of activity.

The campaign, which plays out through print advertising, digital banners and radio among other channels, aims to draw new leisure travelers from Wisconsin, Chicago and other northern Illinois communities. It also serves to inform veteran visitors and area residents about ways they can spend their summer days in Milwaukee.

Along with its summer campaign, Visit Milwaukee has introduced a redesigned website that is easier for users to navigate. Imbedded in the refreshed site is a microsite covering 19 itineraries focused on a variety of topics, from what to do during Summerfest to where to dine in the city.

Additionally, the new site includes more than 30 articles that highlight area businesses, offer tips on exploring Milwaukee and market Milwaukee as a top destination.

“The amazing burst of momentum in Milwaukee during the summer months means a huge surge in traffic to our Visit Milwaukee website,” said Megan Gaus, Visit Milwaukee senior director of marketing and communications. “Our new campaign and website redesign comes at the perfect time when everone is ready to shake off the long winter and experience all the great fun Milwaukee has to offer.”

Visit Milwaukee heads marketing initiatives of Greater Milwaukee to bring in tourists as well as secure national and international conventions and meetings.
