“We continue to be proud of the support we can provide – because of our donors and partners – to Aurora Cancer Care,” said Erin Hareng, executive director of the Milwaukee-based foundation. “Our team of thousands of Lombardi advocates based all around the nation make sure that we can support the great work happening to help those impacted by cancer.”

The foundation announced the donation during an annual meeting this morning at Blue Mound Country Club.

The money will support research grants, a translational oncology research program, a cardio program that identifies patients who are at the greatest risk of developing heart complications during cancer treatments and a Spanish-speaking nurse program to better serve the city’s Hispanic community.

The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation will hold its Walk/Run to Tackle Cancer on July 23 at Festa Italiana.
