UWM planning innovation and tech announcement

Chancellor to unveil new plans Thursday

UWM’s Innovation Accelerator in Wauwatosa opened in 2014. The university nearly doubled its research expenditures between the 2003-’04 academic year and 2009-’10.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee chancellor Mark Mone will unveil plans for campus-wide programs related to innovation, entrepreneurialism and technology transfer at Thursday’s meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network.

University vice chancellor for university relations and communications Tom Luljak did not respond to a call and email Wednesday morning asking for more information about the announcement.

The meeting will also feature a brief tour the university’s Innovation Accelerator at 1225 Discovery Parkway in Wauwatosa. The building is part of the 89-acre UWM Innovation Campus.

The event starts at 4:30 p.m. but is currently sold out. Attendees can register at the door if space is available.

There will be a Governor’s Business Plan Contest info session following Mone’s presentation.
