Tri-Adathon selects 32 organizations to receive pro-bono services

The Tri-Adathon venture between Elm Grove-based Clear Verve Marketing and Milwaukee firms Catral Doyle Creative and the Welke Group has selected 32 area nonprofit organizations to receive pro-bono marketing services as part of its 24-hour nonstop creative work marathon. The services being provided include marketing and communications planning, public relations programs, website design, radio spot creation, graphic design and media planning.
“Everyone involved was so excited about what we did last year and the need was so great it was so difficult to say no,” said Christina Stedar, president of Clear Verve Marketing.
Tri-Adathon received 115 requests for work from nonprofit organizations in the community; more than double what they received last year, Stedar said.
Nonprofit organizations were able to submit an application for pro-bono work through the Tri-Adathon website until early January. Organizations were selected based on need and the skills of the marketing companies involved, Steder said.
“It really was hard to decide, but some of the work we’ll be doing in teams and we’ve also enlisted the help of a few contracted marketing people who wanted to be involved in the effort,” Steder said.
According to Steder, around 15 people will be working on the projects during that 24-hour period.
Last year, Tri-Adathon launched its inaugural year and selected 21 organizations to receive pro-bono work.
The three participating agencies will work collaboratively to execute multiple pro bono projects from the offices of Welke Group, 1110 N. Old World Third St, as well as from their individual offices.
Teams from the firms will meet with nonprofit executives prior to the 24-hour creative marathon which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 18. Final projects will be unveiled during an afternoon reception for the nonprofit organizations and their boards of directors that Friday.
“We’re so excited,” Steder said. “For this one day all we get to do is the part of our jobs that we really love and its so fun because we get to work with people who are so passionate about their organizations and their missions but might not have the resources or the skills to do the communication part of it. That’s what we’re good at and that’s what we get to help them with. We’re all very excited.”
