Tim Casey is the city of Kenosha's new director of city development. Casey, who has 30 years of experience in community and economic development along with private- and public-sector real estate development, was appointed by Mayor John Antaramian and confirmed by the Common Council in October. His first day on the job was Friday. Before assuming his new role, Casey most recently was director of economic development for Waukesha County Center for Growth, a non-profit group dedicated to growing business and communities in Waukesha County. During his four years as director, 90 companies invested more than $250 million and created or retained more than 2,000 jobs in the county, according to a city of Kenosha report. Casey was also worked in economic development roles for the city of Brookfield and Milwaukee County. During his time at Milwaukee County, he helped bring about the Milwaukee County Research Park and technology incubator. Prior to that, he led economic development efforts in Eau Claire and Oshkosh. He earned a bachelor of science from Michigan State University and a master's degree in urban planning from UW-Milwaukee.
