Eight other locations remain open

Locally-based sandwich and ice cream shop The Chocolate Factory has shuttered its Shorewood location.

The restaurant, located at 4330 N. Oakland Ave., had its last service day on Dec. 31, according to an announcement on its Facebook page.

The restaurant, which opened its first location in 1972 in Cedarburg, now operates seven additional locations in Delafield, Elm Grove, Oak Creek, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Waukesha and West Bend.

Job opportunities for employees of the Shorewood store will be available at those locations.
