Dallas-based Hillwood Development Co. LLC has bought more land for industrial development in Mount Pleasant. A Hillwood affiliate recently acquired 19 acres at 11907 Meridian Drive for $2.91 million, according to state records. The seller was an affiliate of Des Plaines, Illinois-based Land and Lakes Development Co. The site has been marketed for a 247,105-square-foot speculative industrial facility. Representatives of Hillwood could not be immediately reached for comment. The property is assessed at $1 million, according to Racine County records. It is the second Mount Pleasant deal between the two developers in as many years. Hillwood bought a 308,000-square-foot facility from Land and Lakes in May 2019 for $18.8 million. The building is located at 11905 Meridian Drive, next door to the site it just purchased. Hillwood also in 2019 bought several properties in Yorkville for $33 million. They included two existing industrial buildings and a site where it planned to build two 194,000-square-foot buildings. It also developed the four-story, 2.5 million-square-foot Amazon distribution center in Oak Creek.
