A Taco Bell restaurant is planned in the city of Brookfield, at Lisbon Road and 124th Street near Butler and Wauwatosa.
Taco Bell has about 7,000 restaurants, including more than 20 in the metro Milwaukee area, but none in the City of Brookfield currently. There is one Taco Bell location in the Town of Brookfield.
The 2,131-square-foot Taco Bell restaurant is planned for a vacant lot at 12405 W. Lisbon Road, just north of Capitol Drive. The freestanding building would have a single-lane drive-through.
The proposal was approved Tuesday by the city’s Common Council. The decision came after nearly a yearlong planning process, planning administrator Michael Theis said.
The franchisee for the restaurant is listed as Vancouver-based Pacific Bells LLC, which owns and operates more than 215 Taco Bell locations in eight states, according to its website. The company has not yet chosen a start date for the project, said Becky Grimes, the company’s development project manager.
Port Washington-based architecture firm Haag Mueller Inc. will head construction efforts.
The restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., with its drive-through operating from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
