Symposium to feature business innovation experts

A daylong symposium to celebrate and nurture innovation in Milwaukee will be presented by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), the Greater Milwaukee Committee (GMC) and the Harvard Business School Club of Wisconsin.

“Unleashing Risk – The Innovator’s Opportunity” will take place Thursday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee.

The conference will introduce new methods to create value by focusing on risk as a growth catalyst for innovation.

The conference host will be Nate Young, president and founder at NewNorth Center. The featured speakers will include: Karen Hung, founder and chairman at Intersect; Stephen Ligouri, executive director of global innovation at General Electric; Barry Calpino, vice president of breakthrough innovation at Kraft Foods; Michael Warsaw, vice president of innovation and design at Johnson Controls Inc.; and Carliss Baldwin, the William L. White professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School.

Space is limited for the event. Members of the three host organizations are being offered an early bird registration discount.

Attendees are also invited to attend an opening reception on Wednesday, March 6, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. hosted by Foley & Lardner.
