Steinhafels lends a hand to local vets

Steinhafels furniture announced it will donate more than $5,000 worth of furniture to Dryhootch, a new nonprofit organization located at 1030 E. Brady St., Milwaukee, where veterans can reconnect.
“On behalf of the veterans we serve, I wish to thank everyone at Steinhafels for this incredibly generous donation,” said Bob Curry, founder of Dryhootch. “At Dryhootch, our mission is to help veterans who survived the war, survive the peace. With this donation, we will be able to offer comfortable and dignified surroundings to the vets who will gather at our new facility.”
The need is great, Curry said. In January, Wisconsin welcomed back more than 3,200 vets from Iraq.
“We know many will be looking to connect with other vets who have walked the same path,” Curry said. “Our volunteer vets will be on hand at our new facility to offer peer-to-peer help for these and all vets who struggle with reassimilating into civilian life.”
"Steinhafels’ contribution is small when compared to the sacrifices made by each brave man and woman serving our country,” said Dirk Stallman, marketing director for Steinhafels, “We hope our donation will help make Dryhootch feel more like home, and we’re proud to help our area veterans."
The furniture will be used in the second floor meeting rooms of the new facility and the first floor will house the Dryhootch Coffee Shop, for veterans, their families and the community.
