State’s first Fresh Thyme Farmers Market store to open June 8

Four additional stores planned in Milwaukee area

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will open its first Wisconsin store June 8 in the third phase of Mandel Group Inc.’s North End development in downtown Milwaukee.

This will be the first of five stores planned by the Downers Grove, Ill.-based organic grocery store.

Each Fresh Thyme store will be about 28,000 square feet in size. Fresh Thyme says its stores will offer “healthy and organic value-priced offerings.”

The first 250 shoppers on June 8 will receive a tote bag filled with Fresh Thyme products. Fresh Thyme will also donate 5 percent of the store’s profits from 4-7 p.m. on June 14 to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Fresh Thyme has recently filled 100 full and part-time positions for the new store.

“We’re thrilled to be opening our first store in Wisconsin and to fill a much needed gap in downtown Milwaukee. We love the city and look forward to serving the community,” Fresh Thyme CEO Chris Sherrell said in a written statement. “The Fresh Thyme mission is to service our customers like family and to offer healthy good food at really good prices.”

Fresh Thyme is also planning or building stores at 84South in Greenfiled and in Brookfield, Kenosha and Menomonee Falls.
