State superintendent accepting award nominations

The State Superintendent of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is seeking nominations for the 2014 Business Friends of Education Award.

The annual award honors individuals and businesses that have partnered with education operators and provided meaningful education opportunities to help students build skill sets sought by employers today.

Recipients of the award will have addressed area workforce needs in collaboration with an education partner. Their work will have demonstrated innovation, creativity and a sustainable partnership with a mission to improve students’ education experiences and bolster career and technical education programs.

Nominations can be submitted through a nomination form, available here. Nominations must be completed by Feb. 7.

All applications will be reviewed by a committee, and the award winners will be selected by mid-March. Winners will be saluted at the Wisconsin Association of Career and Technical Education Conference Awards Breakfast on Friday, April 11, in Middleton.
