Society for Financial Service Professionals accepting ethics awards nominations

The Society for Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), Milwaukee Chapter, is seeking nominations for the Wisconsin Business Ethics Award (WBEA) until Friday, Oct. 19. In its second year, the award praises companies for their ethical business practices, quality in their product and service offerings, and their community support and outreach initiatives.

Customers, clients, employees, consultants, vendors and citizens can submit entries for any company who they believe holds ethics deserving of recognition. Anyone interested in nominating a business can do so by completing the official nomination form from www.wisconsinethics.org. Nominated companies will be notified and will need to submit their own entry form with supporting documentation.

Companies entered will be placed in one of three categories according to their number of employees. Large companies constitute those with more than 2,500 employees. Mid-sized companies are defined by those with 250 to 2,500 employees, and small companies contain fewer than 250 employees.

A panel of judges with backgrounds in business, academia, public service, media and consulting will select the winning organizations using a number of judging criteria focused on ethical standards and practices.

Nonprofit organizations and financial service companies are not eligible for awards. Award winners from the past three years will not be considered either.

Award recipients will be recognized at a ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at The Pfister Hoter, 424 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee. Qualified nominations progress to the American Business Ethics Award national program for consideration.
