The restaurant announced on its Facebook page that Jimmy and Alison Dakolias, owners of Bosco’s Social Club and Spurs Saloon in Waukesha, have signed an agreement to open the second Sobelman’s franchise location.

The new restaurant will take the place of Spurs at 332 Williams St. and will open later this year.

Sobelman’s announced earlier this month it had also agreed to establish a franchise in the former Amici’s restaurant in Richfield.

In announcing the Waukesha location, Sobelman’s sought to address concerns from customers the brand might get too big.

“To Sobelman’s fans who have expressed concern that our brand may be getting too big or chain-like, we promise this: never will your Sobelman’s experience feel like a trip to a ‘chain’ restaurant—we’re working diligently to identify franchisees who truly value their community and believe in keeping with the Sobelman’s tradition and atmosphere our customers have come to expect since 1999,” the Facebook post said.

The post also hinted at the possibility of more franchise locations, telling fans in Oconomowoc, Kenosha, Sheboygan, Lake Geneva, Appleton “and points in between” that “we’re exploring opportunities to bring Sobelman’s Pub & Grill to your city.”
