Professional services firm Sikich LLP acquired Brookfield-based public accounting firm Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell, Sikich announced Thursday.
Naperville, Illinois-based Sikich has 850 employees, operates more than 13 offices throughout the country and offers accounting, tax, audit, tech and business advisory services to clients.
The Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell team will join Sikich’s Brookfield office and Tom Powers and James Ashland will join Sikich as partners. With this acquisition, Sikich will add 20 staff members to its team, , said Mackenzie Gorham, Sikich senior account executive, public relations.
The transaction is scheduled to close on Nov. 1. Additional terms were not disclosed.
Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell offers accounting, audit, tax compliance and planning, and employee benefit plan services, according to a press release. The team has specialized experience conducting Taft-Hartley multiemployer and other employee benefit plan audits.
