Sherman succeeds Claire Beglinger, who will retire Sept. 30, after serving as Carroll’s director of public relations for 18 years.

“Jeannine is a seasoned professional and we are pleased to welcome her back to the Carroll community,” said Douglas Hastad, Carroll University president. “The university continues to evolve, and we are excited to have her skills and experience as we share our success stories, broaden our outreach, and strengthen our reputation as an outstanding private university. We look forward to working with Jeannine as she embarks on this new chapter in her distinguished career.”

As the director of communications and marketing, Sherman will provide leadership for university publications, website development, interactive communications in the digital space, media relations, marketing strategies and community relations.

Matthew Olson, assistant director of reservations and event services, chaired the search committee.

“Jeannine impressed the search committee with her innovative ideas and bold approach for expanding the reach of Carroll University. She rose to the top of a very strong list of candidates and we are eager to see her implement the concepts she presented during the interview process,” Olson said.

At Visit Milwaukee, Sherman directed all public relations initiatives to support regional, national and international awareness of Milwaukee as a destination for leisure and business travel.

“I am excited to join the Carroll University team,” Sherman said. “The university has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to community partnerships that create a lasting and positive impact. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to build upon the proud heritage of Carroll University and to contribute to its future success.”
