The addition of all of those stores, which will include two Fresh2GO locations in Greendale and Hales Corners, and stores in Muskego, Waukesha and at The Corners development in the Town of Brookfield, will bring the number of Sendik’s employees from 1,700 to 2,500. Sendik’s currently operates 13 stores.

“We’re proud to help complete the final piece that brings Miller Park Way to life just in time for the busy holiday shopping season,” said Ted Balistreri, family co-owner. “As we look ahead to the coming year, we’re excited about the opportunity to serve a growing customer base that is responding to personalized service, outstanding food options, and our local, family-owned and operated approach.”

In December, an affiliate of Mequon developer Devo Management Co. purchased a 1-acre parcel at 4200 W. Burnham St. in West Milwaukee, between Mitchell and Burnham streets for $2.3 million for the 42,000-square-foot Sendik’s store.

The parcel is the former site of an ADM Milling Co. grain elevator.

The West Milwaukee Sendik’s store joins other new stores and restaurants on a 4.6-acre site that includes two main buildings. The development includes Goodwill and Applebee’s locations. Goodwill will hold its grand opening Nov. 18 and Applebee’s will open in summer 2017.
