Sears Holding Corp. will close its Product Rebuild Center at 5900 N. Port Washington Road in Glendale and lay off all 67 employees there.
The company plans to begin layoffs around December 7, according to a WARN notice recently filed with the state. According to Sears, the closure is the result of a “change in business circumstances.”
The affected employees do not have bumping or transfer rights, and no union exists at the facility. A company representative could not be reached for further information.
Sears announced recently that it also plans to close its Sears store and Sears Auto Center at Bayshore Town center in Glendale in early December and lay off a combined 86 employees. Those employees will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores. A liquidation sale will begin on September 26.
