Sanborn Tube to move to new building

Sanborn Tube Sales of Wisconsin Inc. plans to move from its current facility to a new $4 million, 72,000-square-foot industrial building in Pewaukee.

The company has contracted with Briohn Building Corp. in Brookfield to design and construct the multitenant industrial building at N28 W24402 Watertown Road in Pewaukee. The 24-foot, clear height building will be made of precast concrete, with 21,600-square-feet of vacant space.
David Buckley of Cassidy Turley Barry acted as broker for the land sale and is marketing the remaining space. Rand Wolf of CB Richard Ellis represented Sanborn Tube.
A groundbreaking will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 11 a.m., and the project is planned for a December completion.
Sanborn currently has 17 employees and plans to add three more as a result of the move, said president and owner John Topetzes.
“The primary driver of this new building is the fact that we need more space due to growth,” Topetzes said.
The company is currently located at 21475 Doral Road in Waukesha, and has two other warehouse spaces, all of which add up to 45,000-square feet.
Sanborn, a manufacturer’s representative and distributor of tubing, bar stock, aluminum extrusions and custom fabricated parts, has recently grown through promoting value added services like tube fabrication, machining, cutting and forming to potential customers, he said.
“In the past, the majority of our business was selling raw materials,” Topetzes said. “As opposed to just saying we sell tubing or we sell extrusions, we’re now focusing our efforts on gaining the value added custom components.”
