Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in Milwaukee will not be open for business this weekend.

The downtown eatery, located at 740 N. Plankinton Ave., is temporarily shut down due to a pest infestation.

The City of Milwaukee Health Department issued the restaurant a cease order after conducting an inspection on Thursday.

“The operator will remain temporarily closed in order to fully remediate the pest issue and upon follow-up inspection, if compliant, they will be reopened,” said Diamond Hanson, the department’s health communications officer.

Hanson said it is unclear when the follow-up inspection would occur.

The restaurant “must eliminate all evidence of pests and any pest harborages” in order to pass the inspection and reopen, she said.
