Golf fans can now sign up to purchase individual tickets for the 2020 Ryder Cup, set to take place Sept. 22 to 27, 2020 at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan County, the PGA of America announced Tuesday.
Those interested have until Friday, September 13 at 10:59 p.m. CT to register at RyderCup.com for a chance to be randomly selected to purchase tickets.
“The Ryder Cup is one of the few sporting events in the world where the ticket demand requires a random selection process in order to give everyone a fair shot at witnessing sports history firsthand,” said Jason Mengel, director of the 2020 Ryder Cup. “We encourage everyone with interest in Ryder Cup tickets to fill out the registration form online, as the number of individual inquiries we’ve received about our random selection process indicate record-setting demand. We wish all registrants the best of luck.”
Ticket options and pricing will be announced this summer, according to the announcement. Once the selection process is complete in October, all applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been randomly selected to purchase tickets.
In addition, the PGA is currently selling travel packages and corporate hospitality packages to individuals and groups interested in attending the Ryder Cup. Hospitality packages, which vary in accommodation size, price and experiences, are in high demand. The PGA in December announced it had already sold out the multi-unit hospitality structure that will be located to the right of the first hole green during the event, but plans are in the works to add an additional multi-unit building to the left of that green.
Free admission to the tournament’s practice rounds, taking place September 22 to 24, is available for military personnel and children ages 17 and younger.
The 2020 Ryder Cup will be the first time the biennial men’s golf competition between teams from Europe and the U.S. is held in Wisconsin, which has become a destination for championship golf competition in recent years.
The United States Golf Association on Tuesday announced Erin Hills golf course in the town of Erin in Washington County will host the U.S. Women’s Open in 2025 and the U.S. Mid-Amateur tournament in 2022. The course also hosted the 2017 U.S. Open.
