Northwestern Mutual today announced that Rebecca Porter was promoted to vice president – corporate strategy and named an executive officer, effective January 2016.
Porter rejoined Northwestern Mutual in 2013, serving as director of planning and resource management for operations and technology. She first joined the company in 1998 as a consultant in budget and expense management, followed by leadership positions in Corporate Planning and Policyowner Services. She continued her relationship with Northwestern Mutual as an external consultant while serving as an assistant professor of financial acumen and business planning for the MBA program at Alverno College.
Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual in 1998, Porter was an accountant with Arthur Andersen. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI and her M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL. She is also a certified public accountant in the State of Wisconsin.
