Joseph J. Zilber will host an event on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. to celebrate the beginning of construction for the redevelopment of the 21-acre former Pabst brewery property in downtown Milwaukee. The event, held at the former Pabst visitors center, located at North Ninth Street and Juneau Avenue, will mark the beginning of phase I of the project, which will include initial remediation, demolition and new infrastructure construction. Zilber, the chairman of Zilber Ltd., plans to transform the former brewery property into a mixed-use, urban neighborhood with residences, stores, restaurants and office space. Zilber will develop parts of the property and sell portions to other developers. The redevelopment project is being called simply, "The Brewery." Jerde Builders & Designs was recently named the 2006 Builder of the Year by the Racine/Kenosha Builders Association.

Irgens Health Care Facilities Group, a division of Wauwatosa-based Irgens Development Partners LLC is developing a 37,672 square foot medical office building for Kish Health System on their Valley West Community Hospital campus in Sandwich, Ill. Construction began in October 2006 and grand opening is slated for August 1, 2007. The two-story building, located at 1310 Main Street in Sandwich, currently is 75 percent pre-leased with primary care and specialty physician tenants. Ziegler Healthcare Real Estate Fund is the main project investor. Ziegler Healthcare Real Estate Funds is a series of private-equity funds managed by B.C. Ziegler and Company, which is part of Milwaukee-based The Ziegler Companies Inc.
