Sussex-based Quad/Graphics, Inc. added former L.L. Bean executive Steve Fuller and longtime Quad executive John Fowler to its board of directors Monday.
The move expands Quad’s board to a 10 members.
“Steve and John bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and foresight that are critical as we work to enhance our offerings and the overall value we bring to marketers and publishers,” said Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Quadracci noted that Fuller, a former senior vice president and chief marketing officer for L.L. Bean, is a former client and understands the complexities of multichannel marketing.
“His understanding of – and deep experience with – connecting channels to maximize marketing effectiveness will be invaluable to Quad and our clients on our path forward,” Quadracci said.
Fowler joined Quad/Graphics in 1980 as the company’s top financial executive and currently serves as vice chairman and executive vice president of global strategy and corporate development. Quadracci said Fowler’s importance to the company “cannot be overstated,” highlighting his work in growing the company throughout the 1990s, working to take the company public and managing acquisitions recently.
The appointment marks the beginning of Fowler’s transition to retirement. He will officially retire from his executive management role at the end of 2017.
