Purple Door to open new location

Milwaukee wholesale ice cream maker Purple Door Ice Cream has moved out of its shared space in the Clock Shadow Building and into its own facility in the same Walker’s Point neighborhood.

The business will hold a grand re-opening on April 12 at the shop, 205 S. 2nd St.

Purple Door experienced 100 percent growth in 2013, driven by the popularity of its uniquely flavored ice creams, like bacon, whiskey and salted caramel. Its products are also sold throughout the area at restaurants and grocery stores.

Purple Door will have the space to offer 12 more flavors in its dipping cabinets, as well as new treats like ice cream sodas, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes.

Yogurt producer Sugar River Dairy will move into the vacant space at the Clock Shadow building.
