What’s new at your company? "Helping clients weather (and take advantage of) the first adverse investment climate in four-plus years."
What are the most interesting issues you work with clients on? "Helping clients understand how their investments can (and sometimes cannot) help them achieve their personal goals; educating clients about the nuances (and limitations) of financial markets and investment portfolios."
What is the most difficult or challenging project you’ve been involved with? "We were selected to compete for a substantial/lead role in managing the investment affairs of a family with total assets approaching $100 million (more than 10 times the size of our largest existing client relationship). Although we did not succeed, the intense effort taught us a great deal about our own firm and how it is (and ought to be) positioned in the (crowded) investment-advisory/financial-service industry."
What was the funniest moment of your career? "When we realized (at a former employer) that our firm’s toll-free number was nearly identical to that of a phone-pornography service; we had a very surprised client on our hands."
