A Florida investment company paid $17.2 million to buy the Brookfield Marketplace shopping center, located on a 15.5-acre site at 14870 W. Greenfield Ave., east of South Moorland Road. Built in 2006, the 90,819-square-foot shopping center includes a Pick n’ Save store as well as several outlot buildings, including a Panera Bread, an Aveda salon, U.S. Cellular store, an insurance office and First Midwest Bank. The property was sold by Century Centre, LLC, an affiliate of Fox Point-based General Capital Group, and purchased by 950 East Sandy Lake Road LLC, an affiliate of Miami-based commercial real estate investment group, L2 Partners.
