Patrick McSweeney, a vice president on Laughlin Constable’s Public Relations team, was inducted into the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)’s prestigious College of Fellows. McSweeney and 15 other new Fellows were inducted into the College during the PRSA 2015 International Conference in Atlanta.
“Admission to the College is one of the highest honors in the public relations industry. Fewer than 2 percent of PRSA’s members have earned the distinction of Fellow,” said Evan Zeppos, Managing Director of Laughlin Constable. “The application process is extremely rigorous. Patrick is one of only 15 PR professionals admitted to the College of Fellows this year, and he is the first member of LC’s talented PR team to achieve this impressive distinction.”
The College is an honorary organization within PRSA comprising of more than 300 senior members who have advanced the public relations profession and distinguished themselves through their experience and leadership in the public relations industry.
McSweeney, a former reporter who has been in public relations for 25 years, had to provide examples for professional capability, advancement of the profession, service and leadership, and being a role model as part of the application. A selection committee consisting of current College of Fellows members solicited and reviewed applications and recommended this year’s group of candidates to PRSA’s Board of Directors.
