Omnicare to consolidate Wisconsin operations

Cincinnati-based Omnicare Inc. plans to close its pharmacy in Waukesha and consolidate it into its pharmacy in Milwaukee.

The Waukesha pharmacy at 407 Pilot Court will be closed, eliminating 78 jobs, according to a company filing with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

However, a “significant number” of those affected employees will be offered jobs at Omnicare’s Milwaukee pharmacy at 5185 S. Ninth St., company spokesman Ed Lloyd told BizTimes. Others will receive outplacement services and a severance package, Lloyd said.

Omnicare is a provider of pharmacy and related services to elder care and other specialized health care settings.

Omnicare said it expects to begin the elimination of the Waukesha jobs on Feb. 22 and will continue until the closure is completed in March.
