As a professor of athletic training and sports psychology and the director of the laboratory for sport psychology and performance excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Barbara Meyer is making an impact at and beyond the university, according to colleagues.
Meyer is a researcher and practitioner in sport and performance psychology with an emphasis on elite athletes, teams and sport organizations. Her focus is on the interdisciplinary aspects of recovery, applied team science and intersections of talent identification and development.
“Dr. Meyer is a sport and performance psychology professional whose expertise is utilized by the UW-Milwaukee Athletic Department, along with other collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes, teams and sport organizations,” said Kathy Litzau, senior associate athletic director at UW-Milwaukee.
Meyer serves occupational and tactical athletes, along with corporate clients.
“Dr. Meyer has made an impact on individuals and teams locally, nationally and internationally. She is a well-respected professor who has assisted in educating many who have gone on to successful careers,” Litzau said.
