Justin Mertz is a partner in Michael Best & Friedrich LLP’s Milwaukee office and leads the bankruptcy team. He focuses his practice on Chapter 11 cases, with an emphasis on representing debtors as well as creditors, secured lenders and committees within bankruptcy cases.

Mertz also litigates general corporate disputes in state and federal courts and assists with other insolvency matters, including receiverships, assignments, foreclosures and dissolutions.

Recently, Mertz has run reorganizations and been active in business bankruptcies in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, North Carolina, Utah, Nevada, Mississippi, Washington and New Mexico.

Mertz is currently on the Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Creditors Rights Section Board of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He also serves as a volunteer attorney through Legal Action of Wisconsin.
