Northwestern Mutual hosts women’s leadership tour

Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. is hosting a multi-city event tour to address women’s leadership.

At “Inspiring Leaders: The Power of You,” panelists Moira Forbes, Ingrid Vanderveldt and Joann Eisenhart will discuss how leaders can help women gain confidence and encourage them to achieve their full potential in personal, professional and financial areas of their lives.

Forbes is president and publisher of ForbesWoman, a multimedia site targeting women in business. Vanderveldt is a member of the U.N. Global Entrepreneurship Council and founder of Empowering a Billion Women by 2020, which offers resources for women worldwide. Eisenhart is senior vice president of human resources, facilities and philanthropy at Northwestern Mutual, and holds a doctorate in human organizational development.

The tour will make stops in Raleigh, N.C., Hartford, Conn. and Cincinnati, Ohio today and Friday. Local business and government leaders in each city will take part in the events.

“Each of us has a unique power and the key is to figure out how to use your power in a way that’s authentic to yourself,” Eisenhart said. “Women who tap into their power can achieve great things, from planning for a strong financial future to managing opportunities and challenges in their careers and personal lives.”
