Would be located in Sendik’s Village Centre on Mequon Road

Brookfield-based North Shore Bank plans to construct a new branch in Germantown.

GTown Properties LLC, agent and property owner for the bank, is seeking approval from the Germantown plan commission to build a 2,250-square-foot branch at N112 W15800 Mequon Road, on a 0.37-acre out parcel. The 10-acre Sendik’s Village Centre would require rezoning from community business and general business districts to a planned development district.

The one-story bank building would have a drive-thru. It is required to reflect the Germanic-style buildings in the town’s “Germanic Theme” corridor. North Shore plans to begin construction of the building this fall, with a grand opening anticipated in spring 2020.

North Shore indicates in its application the branch will employ between two and eight people.

In its most recent report to the FDIC, North Shore Bank listed 469 employees at 48 locations in Wisconsin and Illinois. Established in 1923, the bank was originally called North Shore Savings and Loan Association and in 1989 adopted its current moniker. In 1990, it became a mutual savings bank. As of March 31, North Shore had $2 billion in total assets, $1.7 billion in total deposits and $1.6 billion in net loans and leases. It reported $13.1 million in 2018 net income, up from $6.6 million in 2017.
