LLS Man and Woman of the Year named
The Luekemia & Lymphoma Society Wisconsin Chapter recently held its 2010 Man and Woman of the year Gala where the winners of this year’s fundraising competition were crowned Man and Woman of the Year, every dollar raised counted as a vote.
Chris Fenton of Kohler Co., and Deb Zindler of z2 Marketing were the candidates with the most “votes,” and were awarded the title of 2010 Man & Woman of the Year, Together they raised more than $46,000 for the LLS cause.
“LLS congratulates all of the candidates in the 2010 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Each of them used their passion and determination to raise funds that give thousands of people battling blood cancers the chance to live better, longer lives and they are all champions,” said Frank Canning, acting executive director of the Wisconsin Chapter. “This is a campaign that celebrates not only the individual accomplishments, but the collective success of all these amazing candidates.”
Three men and two women competed in this year’s ten week campaign.
All of the candidates competed in honor of LLS’s Girl of the Year, Frankie Deutsch, a local blood cancer survivor.
Wilson Center for the Arts honors Marcus
The sixth annual Wilson Center Arts and Education Award, the “Eddy,” will be presented to Greg S. Marcus, president and CEO of The Marcus Corporation at The Big

The award recognizes The Marcus Corporation’s commitment and strong leadership in the arts community through the Artist-in-Residence program at the Pfister Hotel, the Marcus Prize for Architecture, and Gallerie M at the InterContinental Hotel.
The written nomination cited The Marcus Corporation’s continued commitment to the depth, breadth, and reach of the greater Milwaukee arts not only through the region, but internationally.
The “Eddy” award, endowed by Murph and John Burke, is presented annually by the Wilson Center’s Bridge Committee to an arts organization, corporation, or individual(s) whose commitment to regional collaboration has created a higher standard of excellence in arts and education.
MRA Announces 2010 – 2011 Board of Directors
Waukesha-based The Management Association (MRA) has announced its 2010 – 2011 Board of Directors. Lawrence Moon will continue as chairman of the board and Todd Teske as vice chairman. Frederick Anderson, president and CEO of Wenthe-Davison Engineering Company will serve as treasurer. Three new directors join the board:
- Paul Diamond, vice president, Addus Healthcare
- Dana J. Schroeder, owner, Productive Living Systems, Inc.
- Christine A. Specht, president/COO, Cousins Submarines, Inc.
Ballet announces additions to Company
Milwaukee Ballet announced that three new dancers will be added to its Company for the 2010- 2011 season. They include: Julianne Kepley as a leading artist; and Joshua Reynolds and Tanner Schwartz join as artists.
“We are thrilled to add these talented, experienced dancers to our Milwaukee Ballet team,” said Michael Pink, artistic director. “As the Ballet moves into the upcoming season, we continue to strengthen our Company with versatile members.”
