Brookfield-based Milwaukee Tool intends to deliver unmatched durability, comfort and organization for professional tradesmen with its three new work gear products. The Electrician’s Pouch, the Electrician’s Belt and the Contractor Belt with Suspension Rig all became available earlier this month.

Milwaukee Tool is a manufacturer and marketer of heavy-duty tools and accessories. It is currently in the transition phase of changing its name from Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., a move prompted by the company’s growing offering of products, such as hand tools, that are not electric.

“The level of durability makes (the new work gear) different from anything in the industry,” said senior brand marketing manager Kharli Tyler, adding that the durability exceeds even the company’s previous belts.

The Electrician’s Pouch includes integrated belt loops and an integrated handle.

Considered the most compact of the three work gear products, the Electrician’s Pouch has integrated belt loops that allow the bag to be worn on the user’s existing tool belt, as well as center-mounted metal D-rings that let the bag hang evenly from the included shoulder strap. An integrated handle also gives the user the ability to easily carry the pouch from task to task.

The pouch can sit upright on a solid base without spilling out contents, and a metal clip securely stores a tape measure for quick and easy access.

The second product in the line, the Electrician’s Belt, combines the features of the Electrician’s Pouch with a smaller, more streamlined pouch and a padded breathable belt. In addition, the belt includes all metal hardware for users that prefer the extra support of suspenders and who want the ability to carry additional tools or bulk items.

The final product, the Contractor Belt with Suspension Rig, consists of a padded four-point harness that evenly distributes weight. In addition to the all metal hardware, integrated handles and a padded breathable belt, it includes a dedicated smartphone pocket large enough to hold all modern smartphones.

“This work gear is a game-changer in that it is optimized for the work professionals do every day,” Tyler said. “Everything from the durability of the gear, to the pocket layout and added functionality of the stand-up design, comes together to provide a solution that is tailor-made for their needs.”

Milwaukee Tool came up with the idea for the new work gear after spending time on the jobsite investigating the existing products and learning that the No. 1 complaint for most users was the premature wear and tear.

“Our work gear features 1680D ballistic nylon construction and reinforced riveted seams for ultimate wear protection,” Tyler said.

The work gear products are among the first in Milwaukee Tool’s growing line of storage solutions, which are part of the company’s Hand Tool line that was launched in 2010. Tyler said both the storage solutions and the Hand Tool line are growing at a rapid rate. The company launched more than 40 tools in its Hand Tool business unit in 2014.

The approximate retail prices of the products are $50 for the Electrician’s Pouch, $100 for the Electrician’s Belt and $120 for the Contractor Belt with Suspension Rig.
