New program supports, heals divorced women

A new Brookfield-based program offers emotional support for women coping with recent divorce or in the process of divorce.

Milton Divorce Coaching has created a six-week program that helps women heal through group discussions and professional counseling. The program will allow women to form new friendships, explore unanswered questions about their divorce, learn how to manage their children and finances, sort through their emotions and determine rules for new relationships with men.

Latrice Milton, owner of Milton Family Law in Brookfield and a certified life coach, will oversee the program.

“Milton Divorce Coaching will help women avoid falling into the trap of allowing divorce to define them,” Milton said. “Our approach builds a network of support and professional advice to help women heal from divorce and face the future with a renewed sense of confidence and dignity.”

Milton’s legal practice is tailored toward women and uses a holistic approach that involves legal representation and planning for post-divorce life.

Her program will also be guided by other professionals specialized in counseling, financial management, and health and wellness.

“Divorce can be devastating, and recovering is easier when a woman has others to lean on,” Milton said. “Milton Divorce Coaching will make women realize they are not alone, and that they can create happy, fulfilling lives in the future.”

The program will be held in two sessions: Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. both beginning this week. The programs’ location is 200 S. Executive Drive, Suite 101 in Brookfield.

Milton invites women to attend an inaugural coaching session.
