Commercial real estate and development professionals will have a chance to meet Richard "Rocky" Marcoux, the new Milwaukee Department of City Development commissioner, when he speaks at the second annual Small Business Times Commercial Real Estate & Development Conference.
The conference will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Marcoux, who was appointed to the DCD by Mayor Tom Barrett, will speak at the conference about prime real estate development sites in the city.
This year’s conference will focus on "Unlocking the Secrets of Site Selection." Panelists will provide their insights into how they select commercial real estate sites for development. They also will discuss how southeastern Wisconsin’s commercial real estate landscape will change in the future.
The panelists for the conference will be: Robert Smietana, chief executive officer of HSA Commercial Real Estate, Chicago; Robert Mariano, CEO of Roundy’s Inc.; Johnny Vassallo, restaurateur; and Peter Bell, president of Pabst Farms Development LLC.
The event will be moderated by Mark Eppli, Ph.D., chair of the Robert B. Bell Sr. Chair in Real Estate at Marquette University.
The Robert B. Bell Sr. Best Public Development Partner Award will be presented at the conference to a local public official who has helped private developers transform their communities.
The conference is intended as a resource for commercial real estate professionals, including realtors, contractors, subcontractors, architects, attorneys, vendors, retailers and engineers who want to stay connected to the industry in southeastern Wisconsin.
The event also will unveil the Small Business Times Commercial Real Estate & Development Book 2005, featuring interviews with the panelists and exclusive market research.
