A new beauty salon recently opened in a 124-year-old structure in Sheboygan Falls.

Owners Kathryn Hillstrom and Vicky LeMahieu launched the concept, called K Lorraine Salon, Spa and Boutique, after a two-month renovation project that transformed the historic Richardson’s Furniture Emporium building at 202 Pine St.

“We never thought an opportunity like this would ever come our way, but it has,” Hillstrom said. “Vicky and I were seeking an opportunity to open a new salon, spa and boutique and we really wanted to stay in Sheboygan Falls. We’ve always loved the Richardson building. It has so much history having been built back in 1895.”

The salon offers hair care, spa and waxing services, massage therapy and wellness classes. Hillstrom and LeMahieu, who previously co-owned Salon 511 in Sheboygan Falls, plan to open a boutique at the new salon space by the fall.

The owners worked with Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation to create a plan for their new business.

K Lorraine Salon, Spa and Boutique will host a grand opening event on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
